The American Legend family is proud to be a part of community partnerships that benefit all of us. In 2021, we supported several programs in both our Texas and Colorado building communities. These workplace partnerships and giving programs allowed our team members to have a positive impact in their own communities, educated all of us about the needs of those around us, and allowed us to embrace corporate responsibility as a team. Our efforts not only supported those in need in our communities but brought us together. Here are just a few of the ways we came together to support those around us in 2021:
Big Brother Big Sisters of Greater Dallas: In May, we sponsored and participated in this annual golf tournament at The Lakes at Castle Hills, a golf club in our Castle Hills community. Funds from this event make a long-lasting impact in our community. According to Big Brothers Big Sisters, 97% of program graduates are either enrolled in college, enlisted in military, or employed in their first year post high school and 98% improved their attitude towards risky behavior.
Colorado Youth Outdoors: In June, we donated to and participated in the Maverick fundraising event. The sporting clay event raises funds for a program that brings kids and parents closer through outdoor recreation programs.
Lewisville Independent School District: Our headquarters is in Lewisville, Texas, and in July, we donated school supplies to the local school district, allowing families to be ready for the new school year without the stress of providing supplies they may not have been able to afford after what was a difficult year for many.
We also participated in a “snack drive” for the local school district in August, providing healthy snacks to kids coming from families with food insecurities.
Building Homes for Heroes: In October, we were proud to make a financial donation to Building Homes for Heroes. This national organization renews hope to our nation’s injured veterans. The organization builds or modifies homes, and gifts them, mortgage-free, to injured veterans and their families, while providing support services to enable them to build better lives. It is truly an honor for us to be able to serve men and women who have courageously served and sacrificed for our country.
Family Tree: In November, we provided holiday gifts and toys for Family Tree’s Holidays of Hope program in Colorado. Family Tree supports those affected by child abuse, domestic violence and homelessness with programs that work to provide safety and economic independence, emergency residential services, therapeutic services, housing search and placement, education and employment support.
CCA: CCA offers a number of types of relief to North Texas families in need: financial assistance, a food pantry, back-to-school supplies and job training. In November, we supported CCA’s Christmas Cheer program by partnering with our sister company Bright Realty and provided holiday gifts for families in need, making Christmas morning cheerful and bright!
In 2022, we will continue to support our community, to build up those around us and continue to engage our team members in all of our community partnership programs.
