Dallas-Based American Legend Homes Reports 1000th Home Closing Home Builder Sees Continued Growth Tied to Customer Satisfaction and Award-Winning Product
August 2, 2011 (Dallas, TX) – Dallas-based American Legend Homes announced this week the closing of its 1000th home. The milestone follows steady growth for the builder, which announced earlier this year a 28 percent increase in its 2010 home closings from the previous year. The company’s success comes despite what is a challenging market. Recent reports show overall North Texas new home sales are down by more than 26 percent in the second quarter compared with a year ago, and down 70 percent from 2006.
According to American Legend Homes CEO Chris Bright, the company’s strength lies not only in its product, but in the power of satisfied homeowners, a mainstay in any economy.
“American Legend takes pride in the product they deliver and in how they are perceived by buyers,” said Marian D’Unger, Re/Max DFW. “Word of mouth is important in this field and American Legend receives a great deal of referrals from very satisfied homeowners and Realtors.” Homeowners consistently rate American Legend Homes 97 percent or higher on “Customer Willingness to Refer” on an independent customer satisfaction survey conducted after closing.
American Legend Homes closed its first home in 2004 and has since expanded to master-planned communities in Castle Hills, Fort Worth, Frisco, Lake Lewisville, Lantana, Little Elm, McKinney and The Colony. American Legend officials anticipate continued growth in 2011 and 2012, as it expands into even more communities.
“As a family company, our focus is on personal involvement in the process, providing outstanding customer service, focused warranty follow-up, and an emphasis on quality-built homes,” said Bright.
The home builder is part of the Bright family of companies, founded in the 1950s by H.R. “Bum” Bright, former owner of the Dallas Cowboys. Today, his sons Chris and Clay operate the Dallas-based companies that include American Legend Homes, in addition to Belclaire Homes, a custom builder; Bright Realty, commercial real estate development; Bright & Co. Marketing, specializing in real estate marketing solutions; State Bank & Trust; and oil and gas ventures.
“We are one of very few builders to offer custom options at every price point, featuring both unique, flexible architectural designs and outstanding value,” added Bright. “We are also committed to green building, with our award-winning and money-saving Energy Star-certified homes.”
American Legend homes feature striking architectural detail and design options such as large spa-like baths and oversized closets, first floor master suites, gourmet kitchens with granite and stainless steel appliances, three car garages, outdoor entertainment areas, media rooms and game room options. The American Legend Homes Design Gallery offers professional design consulting where finish-out and color selections are made. American Legend builds low maintenance garden homes, patio homes and luxury townhomes from the $170s to the $600s and is a past winner of the Builder of the Year award for quality and design by the Texas Association of Builders.
“We attribute our strength to our quality homes and communities in which we build, but also to taking great care in serving our customers,” said Kevin Egan, American Legend Homes president. “We are proactive in our communication, listening to the things that are important to our buyers and effectively managing details.”
