Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
While the weather outside may be frightful, that doesn’t matter to the kids! It’s that time of year when everything outside is covered with a beautiful layer of snow…and the kids are out of school and looking to get outside to play! If you’re tired of building snowmen, and looking for new and creative ways to enjoy your snow-filled days, here are a few ideas from American Legend Homes on how to spend your snow day with the whole family:
1. Snowshoeing in the backyard: Grab the kids and have them make different paths with their snowshoes outside in the snow. Have them create a snowshoe maze and try to race each other to the finish line only using the path they created! It’s a great way to get them moving.
2. Tie dye a snow angel: This is a great way to put a little spin (and add a little color!) to a classic winter activity. All you need is a spray bottle and food coloring! Fill up the spray bottle with water and a few drops of food coloring. Now go outside and make a snow angel. Before it starts to melt, start spraying away. The more you spray, the more vibrant your angel will be!
3. Go on an icicle walk: This is a creative way to enjoy a snowy day without jumping right in the snow and getting wet. Walk around the neighborhood and find as many unique icicles as you can. You can even make a game of it and see who can find the largest or most beautiful icicle!
4. Snowball throwing: Getting the whole family outside for a light-hearted snowball fight is a great way to make memories together! Start off by seeing who can make the most snowballs the fastest and then team up and start throwing. Or find some bins in the garage and have a snowball throwing contest. See who can get the most snowballs in the bin and the winner gets a prize!
Winter wonderlands can be absolutely magical. Make the most of them with your family and neighbors. Then retreat inside to your warm and cozy American Legend home. Gather around the kitchen island for some hot cocoa, get under some warm blankets for story time
