American Legend Homes is excited for the holidays and here to help everyone get in the mood to give thanks! We have so much to be thankful for, especially after a challenging couple of years! It’s time to give thanks and keep things exciting and creative for the whole family! Here are five creative Thanksgiving gratitude craft ideas:
Gratitude Garland is a festive craft that gives the whole family a chance to sit down and reflect on the things we are thankful for. It only requires a few simple supplies, many you probably already have around the house: paper for jotting down thankful thoughts, scissors, string or ribbon for hanging, and a hole punch. It will be a fun family moment finding the perfect place to hang it where everyone can see it as they move through the house. Most importantly, this garland will be a great reminder to give thanks as you walk past it every day. (And will look charming in your American Legend home!)
The Wreath of Plenty is like the Gratitude Garland, but with your thankful thoughts pinned to a Styrofoam wreath. You can get Styrofoam wreaths at any craft store. It is easy to assemble and fun for the kids. Each family member can make their own wreath and hang it on their bedroom door so they see it as they walk in and out each day. Remember the more leaves with thankful thoughts on the wreath, the fuller and more colorful your wreath will look!
This turkey is easier to assemble than the one you’ll be cooking and turns written thoughts about gratitude into turkey feathers! These Thankful Turkeys can be individual or collective for the whole family. They are also cute enough to display around the house and would make a fun centerpiece for the Thanksgiving dinner table in your American Legend dining room!
Gratitude Pumpkins require only a few supplies like orange construction paper, markers, a toilet paper roll and tape. They don’t take much time at all to put together and after only seven steps, you have a pretty pumpkin that reminds you what you are thankful for during this holiday season.
5. Giving Thanks Thankful Banner:
With only four supplies needed, this banner is something the whole family can take part in over several days. By writing down what you are thankful for on a fun, fall-colored paper leaf and hanging it up on a line of twine, this can be a come-and-go project. Each family member could add something new to be thankful for every few days, so by the time Thanksgiving rolls around, the banner is full and colorful.
These crafts are fun, but they are also easy ways to teach children about the concept of gratitude and the importance of family and friends. They are also great reminders for us adults! We are grateful for all of our American Legend families and wish you a wonderful holiday season!
