National Lawn and Garden month is celebrated each year in April. By now, we’re all looking forward to spending more time outside and enjoying the nice weather. So, why not celebrate Lawn and Garden month by getting your lawn summer-ready with some of these easy tips from Growing Family.
Tidy up
You can make a world of difference by tidying up your lawn. Sweep up any fallen leaves that have piled up during the colder months and clear all pathways and flowerbeds of any rogue weeds. Try trimming off any dead stems and remove the dead heads of any neglected plants to encourage regrowth. This will make the space look clean and organized.
Create a theme
Over time, plant pots can age. Replacing the pots in your lawn and garden can be a fabulous opportunity to introduce a new theme and give your landscape a summer refresh. You can do this by adding new colors or creating a display of pots of different heights and materials.
Rearrange
Sometimes, rearranging your furniture can be a good way to reset the area’s ambiance. Changing up your outdoor seating area can complement the space better for alfresco dining and entertaining with friends and family.
Refresh
Since we tend not to spend a lot of time in our outdoor seating spaces during the colder months, your furniture may have gathered a bit of dust and look a bit weather-beaten. Give it a good wipe down and treat it with oil to make it look brand new!
Purchase new furniture
If your outdoor furniture doesn’t look like it can survive another summer, it might be time for a shopping trip to replace it. Treating yourself to new garden furniture like a spacious table, comfortable chairs and even a recliner can help you create the brand-new look you desire. Don’t forget an umbrella!
