You love your stunning American Legend home. You feel like a chef in your kitchen; your bedroom feels like a private sanctuary; and the bathroom is luxurious and spa-like. Your guests even love the guest room!
Our American Legend design team also loves making guest rooms comfy and inviting for family and friends. Here are a few of their favorite tips and tricks for making this part of your home a relaxing retreat:
The bed is probably the most essential part of a guest bedroom so why not make it the focal point! Have fun with the fabric or choose a statement headboard. A colorful fabric or bold design will wow guests. Our favorite place for inspiration is Pinterest of course. Check out these creative headboards.
Work with the space you have to create a guest bedroom that feels welcoming and well thought out. If room allows, provide a small desk or dressing table. A small seating area gives guests a place to relax and sit other than the bed. Think about incorporating a bench, this gives guests a spot to store luggage. If your guest bedroom also functions as a workspace, trundle and sofa beds are perfect for this dual-purpose room.
Repurpose furniture. You don’t need to go out and buy all new furniture and décor. Reuse that old chest of drawers you inherited or found at a garage sale. With a little paint, it will make the perfect nightstand. Mixing old and new furniture will also make the guest bedroom feel warm and lived in.
Another budget-friendly way to give your guest bedroom a new look is by updating the bedding. New sheets and a cozy comforter can go a long way. Mix in some decorative pillows and throws to create depth and texture.
For a final touch include a welcome basket with items like scented soap, shampoo and body lotion. Also include items like a hair dryer, toothbrush and toothpaste. Make sure your guest bedroom is equipped with extra charging cables, the Wi-Fi password and several accessible outlets. If you want to go the extra mile include a cozy robe and warm slippers or socks!
Caution: If visitors love the guest bedroom as much as you do, they may never want to leave.
