Show dad you care this Father’s Day

We don’t doubt that you’ve already picked out the perfect gift for dad, but have you thought about how you’ll spend the day? This year, surprise dad with a day filled with fun! Breakfast in bed isn’t just for Mother’s Day. Let dad sleep in and surprise him with breakfast.  Head to your spacious American Legend Homes kitchen and whip up something tasty. A few of our favorites are pancakes, French toast or good old-fashioned bacon and eggs. Dad will feel like a king when you walk in with his Father’s Day breakfast. 

After breakfast head outside for a family activity! We suggest a family walk or bike ride. American Legend Homes communities are located near some of DFW’s best parks. We enjoy Arbor Hills Nature Preserve in Plano. This 200-acre park is perfect for walking or biking. Spring Creek Trail in Richardson provides lots of shade for those hot summer days. Dad will surely be tired after such a fun-filled morning so let him relax in the media room while you do something nice for him! June in Texas is usually bright and sunny so why not wash dad’s car! It’s the perfect way to have a little fun in the sun and stay cool. After dad wakes up from his nap you can surprise him with a sparkling clean car! 

With all that activity we’re sure you’ve all worked up an appetite.  Take a break from the heat and set up an indoor picnic! Our open layout floor plans make the living room the perfect place to throw some pillows and blankets on the floor and spread out with a few of your dad’s favorite snacks. 

After everyone has had a chance to relax and have lunch, tell dad what he means to you. Everyone can take a turn and tell dad something they appreciate about him or one of their favorite memories with dad. This heartwarming activity will definitely pull at his heartstrings. 

Finally, end the day with a fun dinner! Head to your outdoor living space and fire up the grill (dad’s favorite thing)! Create a delicious menu with all of dad’s favorite things.
